The Drummond MTL20/B is fully GS38 and CAT IV 600v compliant and differs from the standard MTL20 in just one way. The super bright LED voltage level indicators will indicate 50,100 and 200 voltage presence in RED LED’s whilst the 400-volt indication is a bright BLUE lamp.
This enables the user to distinctively identify high voltage via the 360-degree illumination cluster, as required by some DNO’s.
The MTL20/B comes with both straight and right-angled probes to allow good purchase in some applications and avoiding the risk of a probe slipping in the wrong or dangerous direction.
Where transient, capacitive or phantom voltages, often found in the concentric cables supplying the network, are present the MTL20/B allows the user to discharge these voltages via the large RED buttons located on each probe.
Depressing both buttons simultaneously in the presence of such voltages will discharge the voltage using the inbuilt loading of the circuit by the tester. This is confirmed by the extinguishing of all LED’s.
