Making A Purchase
Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on “Checkout” and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.
We take credit card payment through Secure Hosting and accept Maestro, Visa, Switch and Mastercard. Secure Hosting is an independent credit card processor, which means we never see your credit card details, nor are they stored by Martindale Electric anywhere online or offline. We reserve the right to use an independent credit checking agency, (currently Dun & Bradstreet), to verify credit card details and the registered address, in order to protect our customers from credit card fraud.
You are able to correct errors on your order up to the point at which you click on “submit” on the final page of our ordering process. Back ordered items are not charged until they are shipped. You may also place orders and send your credit card information via phone or fax.
When you receive confirmation of your order, this indicates that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the revised price is acceptable to you.
Shipping And Handling
We do have a small order surcharge of £7.50 for our distributors, where the order value is
below £100 nett and a £7.50 delivery charge for any orders taken online that are below £100 nett.
Delivery service is next day with the exception of some outlying and offshore postcode areas, which incur a higher delivery charge and increased transit times. UK Next Day Pre-10:30 and Saturday AM deliveries are available to most mainland areas at extra cost. For further details see the Shipping and Returns page.
Customers can also arrange their own collection if preferred.
Someone will have to sign for the delivery and you will be responsible for the products as soon as they are delivered.
If we cannot deliver the products to you at the address you have specified for any reason (other than when we are at fault), we will notify you
and the products will be stored for you to arrange collection or redelivery. Redelivery will be charged at the above rates if you are at fault.
Drawing on our large stocks, we can usually get orders confirmed before 2.00pm to you for the next working day (orders with calibration may be delayed for an extra day).
Before 10.30am and Saturday delivery options are available to some areas, this is charged as per the above table. Please ensure you select these
options, if required, when checking out.
Please call the Sales department if you require overseas delivery.
If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be contacted via phone or email with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
For orders made from the UK or within the European Union, 20% VAT is added. All other orders are VAT free. If you are VAT registered in the EU, but outside the UK, we can ship to you VAT free on provision of your own VAT No.
Credit Card Security
Our secure web pages are being hosted by Secure Hosting Ltd., who use 128bit SSL to ensure secure transmission of your information.
The secure servers are situated on a standalone private network completely isolated from other networks and connections. They have a single resilient connection to the Internet, which is serviced through dual dedicated ICSA compliant firewalls. The servers are further secured through “server lock” protection, with all credit card details encrypted through 3DES Encryption.
All products are supported by Martindale\’s 2 year guarantee.

All prices are displayed exclusive of VAT. We have made every effort to display as accurately as possible the colours of our products that appear on the website. However, as the actual colours you see will depend on your monitor, we cannot guarantee that your monitor\’s display of any colour will accurately reflect the colour of the product on delivery. We offer a 14 day no quibble money back guarantee on all products bought on the site. All we ask, is all items you wish to return are unopened, unused and as we sent them to you. Once we have received and inspected the returned products we will refund your payment within 7 days.
