Built on the success of the industry endorsed MTL10 and MTL20, the new Drummond MTL15 Test Lamp enables safe isolation procedures to be implemented in higher voltage applications.

The new test lamp extends the applications for Drummond Test Lamps to higher voltages with a 1000V CAT IV safety rating and LED indication for AC/DC voltages from 50 to 690V. The CAT IV 1000V safety rating makes the MTL15 suitable for supply side applications in all installation categories as defined in BS EN 61010.

The unique Drummond design with high intensity LEDs provides 360 degree visibility of hazardous voltage levels even in bright sunlight. This ensures accurate identification of potentially lethal supply voltages above 50V and enables the user to easily distinguish source voltages of different supply types.

Designed to optimise user safety, the new Drummond MTL15 Test Lamp is fully compliant with the latest edition of GS38.

Safety features include:

  • A finger shield to minimise the risk of accidental contact with a live conductor
  • Insulated probe tips, with only 4mm of exposed metal
  • A two layer double insulated cable with white inner insulation which also gives a clear warning of abrasion that could compromise and are resistant to heat and oil damage
  • No batteries, no ranges or switches which prevents potentially misleading results and ensures reliable indication of hazardous voltages every time

The MTL15 is supplied with six test probes that are easily interchangeable, ensuring safe and easy measurements in all types of application where access is limited. The test lamp is suitable for use in many high power applications including wind turbine installations, energy intensive process industries, high power variable speed drives and UPS systems. The Drummond MTL15 Test Lamp is the perfect solution for proving dead and ensuring compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations for implementing safe working practices.

Available to purchase separately or as part of a kit, the MTL15/PD, includes a matching proving unit and a combination carry case for safe and reliable proving of the test lamp before and after use as required by the Electricity at Work regulations.
